The new Z, old Z, current Q60, old G37, all shared the exact same chassis.

The current Q60 is way too expensive. This is where a BMW might be a better option.

The Z and the G/Q have always been the same vehicle. The refreshed Q60 will be getting the new 9 speed in the Z. I would expect the interior and exterior to be refreshed as well. If you need a back seat then the Q60 is a good choice.

The interesting thing about the Q60, the wheelbase is the same as the 4 door. So rear seat legroom is generous. Taller people may not like the headroom, but for kids under 5'6" it'd be fine.
The Q60 also has powered entry/exit for the rear. It's not too bad to use with back seat passengers, worst part is dealing with coupe doors in a tight parking lot, and all coupes will have that issue.

Q60 would probably get cooled seats, maybe heated steering wheel. nicer interior trimmings.
