I had owned a 1977 280z for close to 20 years before letting it go, The reason for this post is that I had recently bought a 1990 300ZX non turbo manual transmission with little over 100,000 miles. I bought the dealership service manual for this project and here is the issue I have. I am under the impression someone tried to slim-jim the driver side door there is a 1 inch cut in the window molding and the plastic connecting link that has the magnet was snaped off at the door lock cylinder, I am under the impression that the last owner thought the car had a fuel pump issue as the job was not finished because he got frustrated because of the Anti theft system being triggered. But my main concern is that the service manual dose not seem to cover any thing over the integrated anti theft system, If I make the repair to the driver side door lock is there a reset procedure for the system? Or will it just start to work after lock/unlocking of the door and putting the key in the ignition to start the motor and it just starts up? Everything about this vehicle stock aside from it needing a new dash harness because someone butchered the wiring to install a different radio, I can find no other butchery or modifications to the car.
