This pan has a capacity of 3.5 liters (more than our Zs, equal to the 350Z, and slightly smaller than than the 370Z). As I was washing it I was trying to visualize dividing it by six and imagining the size of an engine block. The volume seems smaller than I'd expect. I haven't quite wrapped my head around it.

Seeing an engine block apart has always looked smaller than expected to me.
I grew up watching NHRA drag racing with the big beefy 8+ liter V8 nitro-methane burning engines that are huge (11,000 horsepower) and you can watch them in the pits in-person or on TV tear-down the engine after every run. They have to because the engines only last 1 run burning 12+ gallons of fuel in just over 3 seconds going 330+ miles an hour in a 1000ft run (It was a full 1/4 mile when I was a kid).
I have a piston rod from a top-fuel dragster and it's massive.

Side note: Anyone who has never seen an NHRA drag race live should do it at least once. It's a symphony for all 5 senses. Very loud, smells, the bleachers shake... very fun.
