Feel bad for those who lose their job.

Yeah the Nissan dealership I bought my Z at was absolutely loaded with crossovers and EVs nobody wanted. As I was sitting in one of their sales offices and looking at their insane inventory through a window, I thought about how crazy it is that (at the time) the Z was so rare that four other people were racing me to the dealership from all corners of Washington to grab one at MSRP, but their lot was filled with 1,000 brand new cars nobody would buy with even steep discounts.

Thought to myself, "Why don't they focus on producing the cars people actually want?". Hopefully that's the move they are about to make.

Little bit different story for me with the Z but similar for all the other cars. The only new Z in town when I started looking about a year ago was the one that is in my garage now. I bought it in May of this year, so it sat there for a bit.
After I bought it the same dealer ended up with 6 more Z's on the lot about a month after I got mine. One of them has sold since they and all the others are minimum $5k below MSRP.
The other Nissan dealer in my city has had 4 Z's and none of them have sold since I started paying attention to them - around January of this year.

Here's the inventory of the place I got mine.

I live in truck country and there are a decent amount of Titan's and Frontier's around.

Yeah I bought mine in 2023, in the PNW. Even back then, there were plenty of Zs available in rural areas and the east coast, but in my neck of the woods the only Zs you could find were marked up 10k and there were only a few around.

"The automaker has taken drastic measures in the last few months to sell cars and align production with demand. It cut output of its best-selling Rogue in September, along with the Frontier, as its dealers dealt with bloated inventories. It's also asked dealers to sell cars at a loss, hurting their profitability."

Sad being a true blood Nissan fan (Z, Maxima, Xterra, G35)k. Let's see what happens to Z pricing in the next couple of mos, or through this fiscal.

That's too bad. I always started my kids in Sentras for their first cars and have never had any issues with the cars. For some reason Nissan cannot escape the reputation most people have of them being low quality vehicles. We've never had anything but great performance from our Nissans.

Same here. I bought my car in the end of May this year. It was one of three Z's that they got at the same time. Then in June/July, they got a handful of Z's and Nismo Z's to have like 10+ in total. Fortunately I think they've sold most of the Sport & Performance models.

Early adopters. A curse and a blessing at the same time.

This experience has now taught me to wait for the full boatload of Landcruisers to arrive.

I got a Nissan marketing email today inviting me to check out all their offerings and they had links to all their new models EXCEPT THE Z.

I did not even know this model existed until I took my youngest daughters Sentra in for service in September and saw it in the showroom. I was hooked immediately and took it home the next day. They do not market these Z cars well at least in the media/advertising I consume. I've never seen an ad or commercial for one.

You occasionally see a Z in a more generic Nissan commercial, but, yeah, no Z-specific commercials. I guess you just hafta know.
