What a coincidence, been looking into getting a radar detector and was intending to create a post!
Any tips for those of us in states / provinces where it's illegal?
Was looking into the Uniden R7/8
With the "stealth mount"
Got my first ticket just a few weeks back... luckily just a stop sign...
FWIW
As a complete novice, I hit the track first in my NISMO
It was a blast and a lot of fun.
(Being a gran Turismo enjoyed for decades, I wanted to hit the track first!)
Rented the helmet
First 15m were "instructor led", helped calm the nerves and get familiar with the track and markers...
Update on the Project MU Pads.
Basically, they were not even aware that the NISMO Fronts were diff caliper size.
They will enter product development which takes 5 months, and then another 3 months or so for inventory to arrive to America.
I'll keep tabs with the Mackin Sales Rep for progress...
Wonderful news and timing!
Thanks 71zmanfor the update :)
Hopefully I get word back from P.MU Japan!
At the end of the day, being up north in Canada - I have at best another month with the NISMO
so time in the off-season to shop around.
Super!
Keep us posted.
Seems the AEM for Nismo front pads is untapped market right now.
The OEM pads are nice for my driving habits
And did well on a track day.
But man, dust dust dust!
So thankfully I did ceramic coating in the wheels / caliper!
Fwiw at this point.
Confirmed the NISMO pads are different.
Some parts numbers confirmed by Sales @ Mackin Industries (official Project MU distribution)
Waiting on his confirmation if P. MU has pads for the NISMO
Hey all!
Will likely need new pads for the 24 NIsmo come next driving season (Spring 25)
Wondering if it's a different size for the brake pads when compared to the Performance spec? Knowing the front rotor is slightly bigger.
Hearing mixed messages on the web.
Looking to pickup some Project...
I know Dustin Williams sold his to CarMax
And I think the offer was 42k (don't quote me on it)
It was proto spec
With basically the Alpha 500 ams package
Amazing home setup too!
I have 3.1 home theater
2x KEF LS Meta II
KEF Center 250 (I think K250c?)
1x SVS PB 1000 (looking to upgrade to the 2x pb 1000 or 2000 pros)
Rarely.
I typically do a foam canon / one bucket wash every 2-3 weeks depending on drive time
After a drive, I do impromptu spot treatment depending on the area, with just diluted CarPro ECHO. This can be used for bugs as well
If it is a bad spot with bugs, I use bugout with a MF and spot...
Yea, never again for sure...
I got the Nismo now and feel she can take it, not looking to try hahah :P
But 1.3 in the perf was a little "change your pants" type of stuff.
CarPro bugout, spray area, let dwell a little, microfiber agitation if needed, rinse off.
Typically doing this as part of a prewash before a foam canon and one bucket method.
