1. Sway Bars are perfect for OEM+ feel. They get rid of body roll and the car will feel more planted and sporty in the corners. You only need to do the front sway bars, it's also an easy install.
2. Exhaust - the exhaust on the Automatic Z's is pretty good. I would only modify this if you...
My understanding is because the turbos are so small they limit the HP you can make in the upper RPM range. The torque #'s however can be very high with just a tune but then you run into traction issues. If you want to push for high WHP you're going to need to upgrade the turbos
Some would say to get the 3” just in case you end up wanting to upgrade the turbos in the future. Otherwise 2.5” might be a little quieter with no power loss.
I’m thinking of copying you with the AMS catted downpipes but going with a valved exhaust to keep the tone down when needed.
You’re going to keep the square setup (front tires same width as rear?). I’m thinking of going 255 in the front and 275 in the rear to match the Performance trim’s tire widths.
I need better grip from the tires to compensate for not having an LSD :).
The best deals will always be buying used. If you're willing to buy used you can get a very lightly used Performance for $44k (there's one on cargurus for $39.9k with 24k miles).
This was both expected and a long time coming as car prices have been crazy ever since 2020. Hopefully this gets...
This sounds like the best solution to have the best of both worlds. The AMS intake looks to have lids that are even easier to remove. I agree with all you guys by the way.....I actually had looked into the kit and decided against buying it, but lo and behold my birthday comes around and I get...
I’ve tested all modes and I’ve gotten jerky shifts in both auto and manual mode. At one point I thought it was due to my throttle control but one day it was jerking even when I was slowly accelerating and deliberately babying it. It’s interesting you say you’ve had jerky shifts, I don’t remember...
I had this installed by a shop and at first I was very pleased with the audbile "pshhh" it now makes when you let off the throttle but I did notice a new problem. Whenever the car shifts (Auto trans) the shifts are sometimes jerky, a lot jerkier than stock. It's not every time, sometimes it...
Yea with that being the case I don’t see a benefit to keeping the stock tire sizes/square setup. I’ll probably copy the nismo tire size specs when it’s time to change the tires.
Now that the manufacturing woes are behind Nissan they really should do a relaunch of the Z to get hype back around it.
In addition to more marketing they could:
- Introduce a Sport trim (Sport Track?) that comes with most of the NISMO USA bolt ons pre-installed while keeping the price in the...
