Just wondering if any other folks notice incredible brake dust on the factory pads. I'm not even getting on them and I'm surprised at how much they dust. My 2017 Nismo wasn't nearly as bad as these.

very high metal content on that compound. the spokes clean on nicely but its impossible to keep the inner barrels clean I gave up.

not sure if you have experienced it yet but they will also give off a loud squeal when coming to stop. this was more when it was cold outside and rebedding them in helped a bit.

Yes, I did notice a squeal yesterday when I came to a stop light, and I immediately looked around for a dump truck or something and was surprised it came from me. I'll just have to clean them more frequently. I do like the bite from these pads.

I did about 5 20-0 very firm stops back to back to back and the squeal mostly went away.

yeah they are good pads. I did about 5 backstretch 140-50 braking zones on a track day last fall and they never faded

I appreciate you letting me know. I'll bed them in myself the next time I get the car out.

I haven't seen this on my Performance. Is it just the NISMO?
It could be. I had the same calipers on my 370Z which is basically the same fronts that are on the current performance Z, and they weren't nearly as bad as the big calipers on the 24 Nismo. I guess since the size is bigger you have to deal with more dust.

I use the soft brush listed below to get in the barrels, it squashes down pretty flat to get between the rotor and wheel barrel, only part I cant get is where the caliper is. In the rear I can go all the way around no problem, also works great to get the wheel wells clean. One brush last me almost the whole summer. This doesn't add much time to the wash.

Yes my Nismo wheels are terrible to clean. I just took delivery of the new Carbotech 1521 street version brake pads yesterday. I am installing them in the next few days. They should fix the problem. I used these on my C8 corvette as well as my 90 300zx and brake dust is almost nothing. I’ll share performance results after the 200 mile normal driving bed in .

Unfortunately the rock guards are one off D2M custom made. I made then out of some ABS sheet I had lying around. Yes they work great, absolutely no rock chips on the side skirts or quarter panels. With these types of cars self inflicted damage is a real thing, especially if you are running wheel spacers and drive some dirty back roads. With the original Dunlops you can hear rocks hitting them all the time with the windows down. I have Advan V601 now that don't throw rocks unless they are really hot.
