I just did an exhaust swap and removed these from my Nismo exhaust with a 1/2 inch wratchet and socket with no issues at all. Maybe try an extendable ratchet for leverage?

Depending on what type and size impact "drill" you are using. Some are really weak. Get a long wrench or a breaker bar and put some muscle on it to crack it loose. Then you can run it off with the power tool.

You definitely don’t need a power drill for any part of this install except to maybe run the bolts up onto the screw quicker. PB blaster might help but you shouldn’t even need that.

How did it go Landon? What exhaust did you end up getting?

The jack stands I was using did not give enough space underneath the car to work. So I ended up taking the Z to a muffler shop. The muffler system I put on the Z is the AWE Track Edition exhaust system. The sound is fantastic! A much improvement over the stock exhaust system.

You can check out this YouTube video from AWE:

My recording with the iphone is not so good. AWE video got better recording technologies. Listen to the part in the video for the AWE Track version with NO down pipes. Also, the video is good but does not do justice to real life sounds. You really need to be there to get the real experience.

Every video Ive watched folks have caught hell with the bolt tightness. They've always used a cheater pipe or breaker bar. It sounds like they break the bolt every time one lets loose but they're just that tight.

WD40 on the bolts then use an electric torque gun. They're probably seized. I was at the shop today and that's what they did to loosen those bolts.

IMHO, if you’re going to work on a car an impact is a necessity. I got one with a Milwaukee bundle like 15 years ago thinking I wouldn’t use it much and it’s pretty much the only drill/driver I use unless I’m drilling holes. Sling a few bucks at Harbor Freight. Guaranteed to be worth it.

I got the AWE Track Edition exhaust system. I had a professional installed the exhaust system for me.

No drone for me during highway speed limit. I was able to enjoy my music and have a peaceful conversation with a person sitting next to me without screaming at each other.
