I could see $35K. That might be a reasonable starting point; it at least keeps the new Z within shouting distance of the price range it's been occupying for the last several decades. Opening things at $40K reeks of a cash grab to me, and I've really been avoiding coming to that conclusion.

Had some of the initial rumors proven accurate and the base Z ended up with the features of the outgoing "Sport" model, you could probably make an argument for $40,000 as the entry price point. If we got the Akebonos, the 19" staggered alloys, the LSD, the sport suspension tuning, and the aero on the base Z, this would be substantially easier to stomach.

At least for me.

For what market did you hear this? I've heard that Canada and Austraila were going to get a middle ground between the sport and Performance. Though I haven't seen or heard anything about the US market pertaining to this yet.

Completely wrong. We were only offered Sport or Performance. I have the backend documents to prove it. There was no "middle ground" so not sure where you are "hearing" this from. If you want a highly spec'd car...pony up and buy a porsche. A Z car is a standard issue in usually 2 or 3 trims. We were offered colours that's it on either Sport or Perf. And to be exact we were not offered the red interior if you chose Boulder Grey. Time to check facts. But that's what this forum is in service of.

There was someone saying that the Performance wasnt coming with the 9 in screen and a few other things.

That hardly equals the suggestion that there was a new trim level between Sport and Performance tantamount to "middle ground". I have on my order form the 9" screen. The 8" screen was merely internet rumour running around which I guessed you picked up on. There are no "few other things".

If you read the order form it is ambiguous. The Sport indicates 8" and then it is not mentioned again in the Performance trim but mentions the Bose premium audio which everywhere else indicates 9" but is not stipulated here. So my guess is this comes down with what they do on the production run and admittedly that is a crap shoot. However, whether it is an 8" or 9: does not amount to a middle ground trim level. There is only Sport and Performance for Canada. AUS might be a different animal. The way a Z keeps the price down is by NOT offering a lot of optioning. You get preset trims. Maybe colours are different here and there (Canada didn't get Silver). But all in all I think we've done well to get preorders and FOR ONCE being a smaller country has actually benefited us. Can't say that as a Canadian everyday...

Having said all that...I would happily take an 8" touchscreen seeing as how my last 370Z didn't even have bluetooth.

But no...no special treatment. Only more rumours and guesswork like everyone else on here...

Yeah, as mentioned, there was never any middle tier offering for the US market in the launch material and it seems there won't be one, initially. Perhaps eventually the range will be expanded.

Hi all, new here. Put my deposit down on a Performance Automatic this past weekend. I can tell of a few things with my experience. My dealer told me they were slated to receive 80 or so Zs by early 23, and 60ish are already spoken for. Being on the back end of that list, I was told late 22 arrival. As far as pricing, they believed it to be around $45k for a Perf Auto Black/Black, no markups. Of course they can always go back on the no markups, and if that's the case I will walk, but as of now it seems my dealer (very large) is expecting decent sized inventory going into early next year and keeping the price fair.

I'd take some of those dealer claims with a grain of salt. Would be nice if they pan out though. $45k for an auto perf, would seem to indicate below that for a manual perf. Will see ...

Which dealer?

That is a lot of Zs for one dealership.

Hmmm , so it's starting to seem more and more that any average joes getting a Z in the next few months is completely off the table. I really think 4 to 6 months is when they'll start hitting the dealerships in any legitimate quantities. It's April , and not a single new development from Nissan
