Hey all

trying to install a active line output converter to add some amps and subs to my sons Nissan Z Sport. How in the world do I gain access to the radio to pull it. Anything I’ve found online makes
It look like I have to pull the entire dash apart. Can that be right??? I need to tap the speakers to get signal to the line output converter but I can’t figure out how to get the radio out lol

So I tried that but it’s not kicking on the LC7i Pro. Seems like the signal may be to weak? Also I need all the channels to sum them just in case the head unit breaks up the signal frequency range to the speakers. Lows/Mids/Highs etc

The Sport does not break up the signal. The factory head unit only has a single stereo output for the rear and a single stereo output for the front (the door and dash speakers are bridged on this single output). I am doing a full speaker replacement and DSP install this weekend on a Sport and will post a thorough write up.

Thank you, that would be amazing. Also what method did you use to tap the rear speakers and additionally are you using a dedicated LoC or one built into the DSP and/or amp

if you do remove the headunit to tap at the source, anything you can share about how you got to the back of the radio would be super appreciated as well

thank you again.

I’ll be tapping into the front signal behind the head unit. I’m using the D-4.800 as my DSP, so it is an LOC, DSP, and amp combined. I anticipate having to take the console and dash apart to get the head unit out, so I’ll be sure to document that process. Fingers crossed I don’t destroy anything!

Use the rear speaker wires for the LC7. You can tuck the unit between the rear chassis bar and spare tire area
Thank you, that’s exactly what I did but it will not turn on via GTO or audio. I’ve reached to AudioControls tech support and may unfortunately be the slowest back and forth I e ever seen for a product that has such high reviews.

I first tried one positive and negative run from the passenger side to the channel 3 left Input and that didn’t work. I also tried in channel 3 right and that also didn’t work. I also saw on a YT vid that someone had success with right positive and left negative in channel 3 but it wasn’t a Pro model, just a regular LC7i. That also didn’t work. I jumpered to Rmote in and can confirm it turns on and I measure audio in with multimeter and I’m not an expert but I see what looks like signal being measured. It just won’t come on lol

For sure, good luck. I couldn’t find much out there so would really appreciate it :). Thank you again.

Did you set the GTO jumper inside the unit? I don’t think it’s on by default.

On the LoC? Yes sir. The LC7i Pro version has it right on the front of the unit. Or are you saying there another spot elsewhere I need to turn it on bud?

Got it done, just haven’t had time to type it all up with the holiday. Possibly tonight. Spoiler alert: it was a beast. Not for the faint of heart.
LOL great. Happy Easter, I’ll be on the lookout. Appreciate it and have a great weekend.
