This Weekend I got my AMS Performance VR30DDTT Race Full Downpipes and Boost Logic Formula Series Titanium Exhaust installed. Also have AMS Intakes installed prior to this

I had my DPs & Exhaust ceramic coated locally at RaceCoatings. DPs were coated Matte Black and wrapped with DEI Titanium to hold up more heat, while the exhaust was polished ceramic. Left the tips Titanium.

Here they are installed, i just realized my left exhaust is aiming hard left, so ill be fixing that shortly

I'm still having issues uploading videos here, so ill post some shortly

EDIT

I've just uploaded the video clips onto YouTube, not a fan, but oh well. Vids Explain themselves

Now, i'm going to have to say, im not really a big fan of the Catless Downpipes, im now looking to get the Catted version. Reason is, this set up is OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD. I don't intend to be a heatscore and get my car defected from casual driving. Plus the droning is INSANE. To top it off kinda reminds me of the 350/370Z trumpet exhaust. Which is kind of a turn off for me.

SO will be looking to getting it tuned in the meanwhile, then slap the cats on after

While it is so hard to make a judgement call on volume levels from videos, I can (on the take off video) hear the rasp that hits at a specific rpm. Besides that, the sound and tone are pretty sweet! Hopefully adding the catted DP’s fix it for you. Most definitely thanks for sharing!! Going the extra mile with the ceramic on an already premium exhaust, I’m a fan. Looks sick!

UPDATE!

Car is getting tuned tomorrow! Will post dyno results here.

Other then that, i've tried to drive this car as little as possible, and if i did, kept the rpms below 4k until tune. I've had a few complaints of black smoke coming from the exhaust, along with burning and gasoline smell. My assumption is due to the intakes, cat delete, 3" exhaust, the AFR is out of what of whack, and all smoke is flowing through. My concern was every time I shifted or drove in stop and go traffic, thats when the smoke was really noticeable.

Has anyone else dealt with this before, and do you guys think the tune will eliminate that?

UPDATE!

Alright, took my car to Chequered Tuning, Trent and Cat are awesome folks, highly recommend for the Melbourne locals.

As for the tune, got a base line done at 287Kw Avg. Not bad for just Intakes and exhaust upgrades. However, for the smoke, it was very thick during the pulls, but became less and less through each run. I figure that it is intense blow-by from the PCV. Got a Oil Catch Can ordered on the way from Z1, so that should eliminate the smoke. As well, next oil change(@10,000km) will be upgraded to AMSoil Sig series 5w30 (originally changed it to 0W30 @5000km of the same brand), and hopefully that'll make a difference.

SO! If you're going to upgrade your exhaust & intakes, I highly recommend getting a tune, oil catch, and thicker oil

Side note, apparently my car is still too new, and may have newer software. So couldn't get it tuned right away. Will post dyno sheets once its done

Can't Wait!😁

The shot on the floor makes the "OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD" insanely evident.
I don't know if there is a break-in period, or I'm getting more deaf. However, the volume has seemed to lower and become more tolerable, the rasp is also disappearing too

I have the boost logic system and full dp's with race cats. It definitely sounds better with them, it also helps with smoke quite a bit. I haven't finished tuning my car yet. When I'm done I'm curious to see how much less power I am able to make vs cars with the same mods and not CATs. I know these cars have back pressure issues so it may be a decent chunk.

Alright! Now the dyno results are in,

Dyno01132025.jpg

Red is OEM: No Mods
Blue is Me: Modded

Mods to include,

Cooling: Z1 Intercooler Coolant Pump Upgrade Kit, AMS Performance Heat Exchanger, Intercoolers & CZP Silicone Turbo and Throttle Body Coolant Hose Kit

Intake and Exhaust: AMS Performance CAIs & Catted Street Full DPs, Boostlogic Ti Formula Exhaust

Other: GKTech Polyurethane gearbox mount & Rear subframe slip-in collars (not sure if this would have made a difference in the power delivery to the wheels), & TurboSmart Kompact EM BOV VR25 Dual Port Suit

Fuel: 98 unleaded octane from BP

I'm actually suprised that from factory the Z only comes with about 370whp. With the mods without the tune, we got it clocked in at 394whp, baseline tune @417whp, and final tune at 425whp

Driving it,....... HOLY F***, gonna have to get used to it again, but she rips hahaha
