Does the tonneau cover require....

Is the strut change recommended if you're only using the cover or just for cars with the cover + spoiler?

Can confirm my '23 Proto hatch needs extra lift by hand to release properly with the 370Z cover (same part) added. Can't open one handed. I'll be looking to find replacement struts or I've seen that you can just add coins to the spring risers to get that extra pop.

Kept mine from my 370, wasn't going to pay the exorbitant Nissan price for new one ( unbelievable that a car at this price it doesn’t come standard). No need for different struts. My advice source one from an Z auto wreckers.

So the tonneau cover from a 370 works on our generation of Z?

I installed a cover from a late model 370. As has been mentioned, you can tell there is more of a load on the struts but it is manageable. Don't know about long term.
