Yes thats how I did it, flush with the spoiler no paint showing. I had to make very minor adjustments to make sure the Z was level to the lines of the car. I used a little leveler to make sure it was straight. I'm ocd like that. I also used painters tape to hold it on when I found the sweet spot. I'm sure you already know to press firmly down on the badge before taking off the plastic or blue foam to ensure there's no gaps in the adhesive.

Don't worry about the Fairlady being at a slight curve. Only the z needs to be level. Use the lines from the taillight for reference.ok cool it felt like when you make the Z level the foam under "F" just a little raised up. my neighbor is a car detail guy and is gonna help me as he says he debadges cars for customers all the time.
was just making sure that curve at the edge was supposed to cover all the paint and then you get like a tiny bit of the point of the foam hanging off.
