Picked up my 2024 Z two weeks ago. It's been sitting in the garage for the most part, I have been waiting on my PPF appointment. I was agonizing over which brand to use, and the installer (20 years' experience), strongly recommended the top-of-the-line 3M. He said recently the clarify he has seen from 3M has been the best, and I have to tell you, I am glad I listened to his advice. The clarity of the film is unreal, it looks like glass, and gloss from the film is nuts! I did the whole front clip, and also the A-pillars and the leading edge of the roof. If anyone is on the fence, just do it, especially if you plan to keep the car long term.

All in it cost me about 2k. Prices vary, the biggest factor for me was the experience of the installer. You can probably get it a bit cheaper, but I wanted full front fenders, full hood; bumpers headlights and a pillars etc.

For mine, it was $4700 to do full body and tint the windows and windshield, all 3M

I thought about doing the whole car, but opted just to do the front clip. I also used the 3m Pro Series 200. It's really amazing how far the PPF film have come, you cannot tell there is any PPF on the car.

The stuff works! I have about a thousand miles on my car and it has taken 2 or 3 hits already and didn't hurt the paint. So far I'm a believer in PPF.

OP covered a lot. If you had to advise a minimal install to cover the majority of hits, would bumper and hood cover us?

If you are going to spend the money, it makes sense to do it right. I did not want a line on my hood, or fenders, and the front bumper is mandatory. So, I would not do it unless you did the full hood, front bumper and fenders.

Although I believe I’m keeping my Z, I’ve believed I was keeping a lot of cars and didn’t a single one. I would definitely do this if I knew for sure it’s a keeper. So many saved frustrations. I totally get it.

I would do a full front, hood, fenders, and mirrors. Start with that, and see how it goes. Just make sure you research a good installer.

I hear you, my last z was a 1995TT, owned it for 15 years. So, I have a history of buying cars and keeping them. This new z offers me everything I could need in a sports car, and my plans are to keep this for a long time. So for me, the investment was worth it, so that I can enjoy long trips to the mountains without worry.

It’s the first mod I’d do if I planned on 15+ years ownership.

I’d probably get some kind of underside treatment, too. Not sure what’s out there that’s reliable.

I trade cars out, but the gasoline sports car era in my price bracket is coming to an end. It’s a bit like playing ring around the Rosie. One of these cars will be the end very soon. What will we land on?

Your sir are correct, and new z is what I choose, not allot of options, and in my opinion this was the best of them. There is a million coyote mustangs out there, but I was over the muscle car stuff, in my mind, and factory 400HP car with all the amenities and a 6 speed, I wanted to grab one while I could, and have the time to enjoy it, who knows what the future holds, but gasoline powered weekend two seaters are coming to an end.
