I have the 2023 Z performance with stick shifter. It has heated front seats controlled by a switch on the console. I have noted many times that the driver's seat gets very hot intermittently even though the control switch is in the off position. I've brought it to the dealer 2x feeling that the switch was defective causing the "hot seat" . Both times they said they could not find anything wrong. Yesterday the seat got hot again and I started my own investigation. What I discovered was that the floor vent of the air handling system was delivering heated air while the dash vent was delivering the cold air level I had set on the dash thermostat. I had the air director set to deliver air to both the dash and the floor. Has anyone had similar experiences and if so how was it resolved? If I just direct the air to the floor I get colder air to that vent.

I once had a car that had a similar issue and it was one of the actuators in the dash was stuck in the heat position for one of the vents.

Might be something to have the dealership check because they are not easy to get to in most vehicles.

And I thought it was just me feeling that. When I select vent/floor the floor air is always warmer. It's not bad enough that I'm going to let those clowns tear into it.

Harbor freight boroscope might be able to look in to the vent.

Thanks for the response. Now that I know I'm not the only one I'll pursue it with the dealer

I looked through the service manual hoping to find a diagram of this area, but the closest thing I could find was the engine cooling diagram.

I guess there must be a valve and a radiator from point A to point B in the diagram that is incorrectly open for the HVAC mode you're using.

When first set to cooling mode both upper and lower vents provide cool air (but not matching with the lower vent warmer than the upper vent). As the temperature in the car approaches the set value the lower vent goes from cool to hot. I measured the vent output temp and read 68F from the upper vent while the lower vent measured 95F

Sounds like an actuator to me. Would be covered under warranty if you are under 36k/3years. Tell the dealer about your temp measurements since they were looking at the seat last time.
