Hello all. I’m new to the Z community. I owned a 2004 G35 w/ a manual back in the day but this is my first Z. I’ve been in the market for a couple of years but just refused to pay any markup. Well the wait definitely paid off!

I was able to buy a brand new 2024 Z Sport w/ manual in Boulder Grey for thousands under MSRP. I ended up paying $39,990 plus TT&L with zero dealer add ons. It really made the Sport an intriguing choice at that price point. I haven’t bought a vehicle that wasn’t loaded in years. The stereo is absolutely TERRIBLE! The infotainment is the laggiest I’ve ever seen. I can definitely see why Nissan is struggling in that regard. Do I regret the purchase? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

The Z is as authentic of a drivers car that I have driven in years. You are truly one with the car. The seats are comfortable and the turbos kick on in a very linear fashion. I will definitely add a LSD at some point but I’m honestly really enjoying the old school feel that not having one provides. I owned a Corvette ZR-1 and the Z actual gives me more enjoyment.

It’s crazy that Nissan hasn’t sold many because it’s the epitome of driving perfection in my humble opinion. That being said, I do love the uniqueness of owning a car that was outsold by Lamborghini last year. I went to a local Cars & Coffee and the Z stole the show. Even the guy who owns a Ferrari walked over and was admiring. Show me another car that will draw as much attention and admiration in this price point. I’ll wait. In a sea of Mustangs, GR86’s, and Civics the Z stands out.

Huge Congrats! That's an awesome color too, one of my first choices still. It's one of the last 'analog' sports cars today, the beauty of it, and rare out there. Great platform for updates, has enough power already. Keep us updated, do some road trips:like:

Congrats! I bought a Black Sport Z a few months ago and love it. I also love the wheels, they remind me of the IROC-Z28 I owned back in the 80's. You are right the stereo is unlistenable, but thats ok, at my age the days of blasting hair metal music is over. Only negative is the lack of a rear spoiler, oh well, I can live with that.

The rear spoiler is around $600 from Nissan I believe but I’m kind of digging the clean look. Reminds me of the 70s and 80s models I liked when I was a kid in the 90s.

Agreed on the spoiler, I also inquired about the price if i wanted to add one but not worth it. I am getting used to the clean look as well, thanks for posting some classic pics of no spoiler Z's.

Cool! Same here, last April. Lots of attention around these parts(MI Upper Penn.). The rear drive is wonky so be careful. Gets out hand easy. Added one of those slim, underseat subs and surface mount tweeters on there rear strut colunms. Total cost about $200.00. Much better but still sub-par for my standards.

Can owners please comment on the road noise level of the new Z?

I've owned several Zs in the past, included a 1984 300ZX, 1990 300ZX, 2003 350Z. They were all very noisy due to the drum-like effect of the hatchback open to the cabin. I was unable to hold a phone conversation in the cars due to this issue.

Eventually I graduated to other quieter vehicles, like mid 90s M3s, other BMW coupes that were much quieter. I currently have an Alfa Giulia 2.0 which is a great car, and quiet on the road.

I'm not talking about engine/exhaust noise-I welcome that--I'm talking about incessant road/tire noise.

I'm considering a new Z but hoping Nissan built in a but more sound-deadening with the new model. Since it's still a hatchback, I remain doubtful!

Back in 2003 my GF at the time bought a brand new 350Z base. I remember that car being super loud inside with road noise, like riding in a dump truck. The New Z is much quieter, not like a luxury car but not bad at all IMO. I have a Ram 2500 diesel that's way louder inside and my old 911 was way louder inside than the Z.

That’s a great idea! I may look into doing something like that to improve the sound. And yes, the rear easily gets sideways! Haha

Nice! I went the same route you did with the sport trim. I used the extra funds I saved to get performance upgrades.
