My 2023 Rosewood Performance Z is now in the shop for the ultimate audio system upgrade. Installation activity is expected to last for two weeks. Soundworks in Millersville, Md is the installer.
Background information:
I been an audiophile since high school and Music and Audio Equipment is a huge part of my life. What funny is High School feels like just like a few days ago (ha-ha). I really enjoy all types of music except rap and todays Pop stars. I wanted to update the Z sound system with a richer sound experience. I find the Bose system to by gray sounding when compared to my home audio system.
Back to the Z: my Z was purchased in 05/23. I been inching to update the stereo since I purchased the car and but wanted to update my home audio system first which is why this took so long to finalize for Car audio project. As Mr. Mac accurately said in his thread: āAfter learning just how horrific Bose's so-called "premium" audio system is in the new Z and being beyond disappointed with its laughable performance I got to work on ripping it all out and designing and building a proper setupā
Back in the Summer of 2023, I started my research on equipment options and costs. Early quotes ranged from 4K to north of 10K. With the better systems requiring a larger investment, I knew I had a lot of learning to do. Car audio is very different than home audio and more complex. The first realization, the CD player option was not available with current car audio products and I would need a phone or a Digital Audio Player (DAP). I hate cell phones so I picked up a DAP A&K SP3000 from a gentleman who works at the UN in NYC. I have been using that with the Bose Bluetooth module. In the grand scheme of things and on all of the unknowns I put this project on the shelf until Mr. Mac posted his project in early 2024.
With Mr. Mac posting his āBOSE BE GONEā thread as a resource. Itās been an invaluable reference point and since he did the work himself it even more informative.
My main requirements for this new system were the following:
The system has two modes of operation,
The Mosconi High resolution Bluetooth Module will be connected to the Helix Digital Signal Processor with a digital cable that will reject a very large portion of EMI energy within and outside of the car. This will maintain a higher degree of signal integrity then running a āanalog cableā.
The Helix Pro Digital Signal Processor will connect to these three amps.
Harmonic Harmony EHD Filters:
Speaker cables: Mundorf Copper Angelique Copper Silver/Gold conductors 13awg
Interconnects: TBD
