I just kept looking on eBay until I found a somewhat cheap one. I made offers and got disregarded a few times. If there’s anyone on this forum who changed there automatic exhaust they should put it for sale on here. There’s definitely a market for it!

Yeah, it’s a weird one…. Usually a take off is a discard item when it comes to factory exhaust parts (excluding cats).

Youre not wrong. Now I have to toss the stock M/T muffler up in the attic until someone may ask for it later down the road

bit of this, bit of that
Off the back of this thread I replaced the MT with the axleback from Remark.

30 minute job and the old unit weighed 12kg so that's free speed as well.

Was very hesitant as hadn't been impressed with any cat back I'd heard and figured anything half the price to 1/6 the price couldn't surely right? Plus you're still stuck with that peashooter zorst.

Worst case scenario I'm down AU$900 hey.

To say I'm pleasantly surprised is an understatement

Found a full exhaust on FB market place for $200. Had to drive a couple of hours but was well worth it.

Not something you should have to pay a shop to do, very easy to swap out.

I have a 2024 MT, and this thread motivated me to look for an auto exhaust. I plan to keep my car mostly stock, so figured this was a worthwhile upgrade. I found a new takeoff AT complete exhaust. For those that have installed the AT exhaust on a manual car, did you just swap the mufflers, or did you replace the mid-pipe? The AT exhaust has a resonated mid-pipe, and the MT is a straight pipe. I am thinking of just changing the exhaust, but didn't want it to be obnoxiously loud or drone in the cabin.

I changed just the muffler and it’s exactly how I want it to sound. Look at the video the OP posted. It gives the Z a little more growl and still remains stock. I love this decision that I made. It makes me feel like I’m driving an actual sport car. In my opinion, it’s how the Z should have come from factory.

Thanks for the info, I was worried it wouldn't sound good without the mid-pipe resonators. I am going for a louder sound but not interested in anything too crazy. How does it sound in the cabin at cruising speeds?

At cruising speeds it sounds similar to the stock muffler, maybe a tad bit louder but definitely not very noticeable. I cruised around today just to hear the exhaust and then the school called and told me my kid was sick and needed to get picked up. I obviously made the pick up in the Z! Haha

This isn't in the immediate cards for me but I was looking. This is awesome - very in line with what I did for my 370Z using AAM short tails axel-back/muffler replacement. Will keep this in mind for future use. Thanks OP and everyone else who commented!

Glad to have helped others who wants to keep their car stock

Its louder in the car than it is outside of the car. Mines straight piped. I had someone drive mine while I was standing outside. When he drove by me at cruising, it wasnt loud at all. When he WOT to redline in 2nd gear, you could hear it, but subtle. Definitely wont be an attention getter

It does drone a little between 1800-2300 rpms. Give or take. Manuals rarely go below 2300rpms above 60mph in 6th gear. And not to bad in city driving

Best way to know if you want a resonator is drive an AT model and put it in manual mode

I tried them both, straight pipe and resonator.

I went with the resonator complete AT system. Straight pipe was a little too much for us.

Would switch it out if doing a track day or something, but not daily driving.
