I just got out of a long-term relationship with an ‘05 350Z, that until a year ago had a cassette tape player in the dash. So I’m still getting up to speed with this old to you but new to me tech. Like the “Don‘t Change Lanes Because There’s Someone There” lights by the a-pillars. Is it just me or does that light leave a lot to be desired? Not impressed. Maybe it’s the color. Maybe it’s the odd shape that doesn’t seem to blend in to that spot. It’s like they realized at the last second they needed a light, so they pulled the buttons off the 35 year old Coffee Mate machine in the break room. I’m obviously being a little sarcastic, but has anyone else looked at those things and thought, “Huh. They could have done better.”

I’m good with them, they get my attention because they don’t fit in. When they light up, I know. When they are off, I don’t even know they are there.

I do prefer them in the mirrors though, like Ford does.

Opposite experience for me. I like that they are fairly dim and not in the mirrors. They are easy to see in the corner of my eye but don't blind me like some other cars do. I didn't realize you could change the brightness but I will play around with that as well.

the brightness can be adjusted which is nice. having driven other new cars, these are some of the better blind spot monitoring lights out there and being inside is better imo

Perhaps, to me- it's seamless. It doesn't bother my eye, nor do I need blind spot monitoring in the first place. I'm pretty low maintenance so it's nice that it doesn't hurt the eye, I'm glad the interior is simple. It's enough and that's it.

The BSM light positioning in the Z initially annoyed me, and I thought it was just Nissan half assing it, but I grew to like it being inside the car, easier for me to see. Yeah it's not in the mirror glass itself but I like it being where they settled on it more after I had time to get used to it. The shape of the light still not my ideal choice, though.

I actually love where it is and the light. I prefer it over it being in the mirror. I also used to own a z33. When did you get the new Z? What are your other thoughts about it ?

I love it to be honest. Its perfect to sense in my peripheral vision and not too distracting neither too faint.

2003 Track, June of '03 (new, totaled in 2016 or 2017...i can't remember)
2005 Touring Roadster AT (used, traded in for new Z)
Got the new Z almost 2 weeks ago
I loved my Track and never had a single issue. Nissan replaced the front tires and did an alignment a few months in. The notorious "Feathering" debacle. I never had issues. My only complaint about the Z33 may not even be a Z33 issue, although a telescoping steering wheel would have solved it. The distance between my butt, the steering wheel and pedals was always weird. I'm 6'2", and with the seat positioned where my legs were comfortable on the pedals, the steering wheel was too far away. Moving the seat where the wheel was in a good position, my legs were bent a little too much. At autoX I'd move the seat up to be on top of the steering when and I was positioned like I was riding a kids tricycle. Nothing but love though. I've never even sat in a 370. The new Z is a different animal than the Z33. A lot of interior styling cues crossed over, but the balance feels quite a bit different. 8 years since I drove the track, and I'm not sure about weight, but the new Z feels heavier. Regardless, I love the new one. No regerts. I miss the sound of the VQ, but TT power is amazing...I bit on a NISMO with AT, but I still think Nissan made a mistake not offering it with the 6MT. They would be selling a lot more, no doubt.

My 2022 Frontier has them in the mirrors.
I can't decide which one I like better. I see both when I look over so I am fine with either. Just glad the Z has something because dang it is hard to see out and behind this thing :D

I thought the blind spot in my Z33 coupe was bad...until I got a Z33 roadster.
Then I got the RZ34.
It's like driving in a hoodie.
Without the blind spot monitors you'd have to go full Ace Ventura for safety.

The BSM lights in my Titan are in the mirror, and they're difficult to see. I prefer them in the a-pillar/interior, better contrast and closer to the driver.

Update, I had a passenger with me, and the first thing he noticed and said he liked was the integrated BSM, he liked how it "disappeared" and blent back in with the pillar LOL.

I would have to agree that the simplicity of the interior is great. The BSM is always in my peripheral vision when driving and I like how it goes away and you don’t even notice that it’s there
