Hi, I'm pretty new to the modding scene. I'm trying to figure out what I can change around with my car to get a bit of a noise bump without sacrificing too much reliability. So far, I'm for sure switching out the cat-back system, I'm also 50/50 on changing LDP as well. I saw somewhere that changing the airflow will require a tune, so I am trying to figure out.

If I just change the cat-back, do I need to worry about tuning?
Same with LDP.
Maybe intakes as well too?

My goal primarily is more for a bump in how loud the car is and the overall sound. I'm not too concerned with performance boosts for right now but maybe later down the line. My biggest worry though is damaging the engine in anyway.

I'd recommend adding a Cat Back Exhaust (CBE).
Depending on which one you go with (so many on the market, some are subtle increase compared to others), it'll definitely bump the loudness of the car.

Overall, if reliability is key and no interest in performance gains.
Sticking with just the CBE should do it.

If just a CBE Swap is not meeting the expectations in sound, a LDP is recommended (greatly increases the sound and tone when paired with a CBE). Though as Stillen mentions above - tune is highly encouraged to maintain reliability.

Yeah, if you don’t care about making power then why go through the trouble with the down pipes that are a pain to remove. Just get a large diameter exhaust of your liking. Intake, if it’s open makes more noise and intakes on these cars aren’t worth a bunch of power. With regards to tuning, a good tuner can clean things up really good. With intake and CBE you don’t need it, but you could ask for a tune that keeps stock boost levels but gives you better drivability and possibly pick up MPG. Call Seb @ Specialty Z.
