I guess it was more of a money thing that Nissan/Nismo pulled out of the American series. Although, after reading the statement by Flying Lizard, it sounded like the car wasn't going to be competitive after their winter testing. Not sure what to make of it.
It wasnt money nissan as role was just as support role on raceday. FLM was funded and ready to compete. I cant go further than what has been made public but the quote in the article about a specific safety concerns was the predominant factor that ended the season before it began.
