I wonder why this one is all wrapped up, maybe a test mule for the Nismo Z?

I'm pretty sure that's just an old article from Bestcarweb Japan that was reposted.

It may be a newer magazine, but it's the same old photoshop. I believe the person is saying that if they get an allocation for a Proto Spec, they're not sure whether to get that or hold out for the Nismo.

■ Z NISMO will also make its debut in 2023!
The new Fairlady Z, which will be unveiled at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, will be equipped with NISMO, just like the previous model.

The 3L, V6 twin turbo VR30DDTT engine is expected to be about 20ps / 2.0kgm higher than the normal 405ps / 48.4kgm.

Following the style of NISMO, weight reduction, body strengthening, and special tuning of the suspension are applied. The price is likely to be around 7 million yen.

Another quick video

I mean, it's not terribly surprising to see it haul ass away from an S2000, but my word that corner exit speed, not to mention confidence in late braking.

And unless my eyes deceive me, looks like the rear end gets a little squirrely around 0:08? Mash that gas and go!

Hauling ALL the ass.

Road & Track picked this up. They seem to suggest that this is potentially a Nismo spec. They also seem to base that on their belief that Nissan is the only one in possession of any Zs at the moment. That doesn't seem accurate to me though because we all know Forsberg already has one.

Then someone on here mentioned it could be a GT4 tester, which, given the roll cage, seems like the most likely option.

However, OEMs do often fit their prototype performance spec cars with roll cages when doing heavy track testing. As performance is dialed in, the cage is removed or a new car closer to production spec is used.

So, in sum, I don't think this is some random tuner's test car. I think this is Nissan testing. What they're testing is up in the air though. I'm not sold on this being a Nismo tester, but I'm not totally sold on this being a GT4 tester either. However, I'm pretty convinced Nissan is behind this.
