Looks much better than I thought it would, provided (big if here) this photo is accurately reproducing the red. Can anyone who has seen this red on another Nissan vehicle outside confirm the accuracy?

You'll certainly get noticed driving this thing. it does have me seriously considering a colour change.... don't know if that can be done without losing my current reservation.

Can't find any closeups of this paint colour - is it a pearl/metallic/mica?

Passion red was a 370z color too. There’s lots of photos on Google in different lighting conditions. I didn’t care for it on the 370z, but it looks much better to me with the lines of this car.
Yes but no closeups showing the type of paint that I would see. Plus camera colour balances vary, picking the true colour is anyone's guess, need to see it IRL.

Wow, that red looks much better than I expected from looking at the Nissan Canada ordering page.

DAMN. Didn't think I'd be a fan of the Passion Red even though my favorite color is red and I own a Magma Red 370Z, but this looks sharp. The gun metal wheels and red calipers go perfect together with this color. Really would like to see it out in the direct sun light.

The color changes a lot in the sun light vs overcast. In direct light it turns bright, "glowing" red as you can see. I can tell you from my Magma Red 370Z, even though it's a different red, the metallic flake in the paint makes it change a lot in the light.
Here are some pics of Passion Red 370Zs.

I like this so much better than the Supra's candy apple red.
I've gotta respectfully disagree. Monza Red has a lot more pop. I've seen more red MK5's in person than any other color. They look good. Maybe my mind will be changed once seen in person, but Passion red is a little too muted and perhaps dignified for the body lines of the Z. It would be right at home on a grand tourer but not a pure sportscar. PR reminds me of Mazda's soul red crystal. To me that color says "I wan't to be able to say I have a little red sportscar, but I don't want the cops to notice me. Y'know? Red....but not RED red."
