Did several WOT throttle pulls, the car feels "snappier", there seems to be less of a delay in boost kicking in, it's noticeable to me for sure. Placebo effect maybe but I don't think so!

And the sound wow, even with the lids on the Mishimoto CAI increases the turbo sound quite a bit.

I did several pulls with a Scat Pack 6.2 (I think he said 6.2? I don't know a lot about those cars) and I beat him every time from a stop and 30-40mph pulls. We stopped and chatted and he said my car is FAST and it's the first Z he's seen in the wild. That's one of the things I love about this car.

Since my drivers side turbo did not blow up I guess the A/C cap went to that place where all the dropped 10mm sockets go that are never found again and not in the intercooler downpipe. I'm a happy guy tonight.

Super cool! Thanks for confirming what I thought to be the case. Great pics--love the carbon fiber!

Nice!

I too did my Catch Can install from z1. Definitely the hardest part was the intercooler. I faught it like I was arm wrestling Sylvester Stallone lol

Im glad its over tho and I dont have to touch the intercoolers for a long while. I was thinking of doing my AMS HeatX tomorrow. After today, that will wait for another weekend

Shit. I replaced the factory BOV's with Turbosmart BOV and it was a beast removing one of the bolts from the wastegaste in the passenger side and the BOV from the driver side. I should have replaced the OEM intakes with AMS while I was at. Putting back the intake hose in the passenger side was hard af.

Nice!! What's the best method to removing the stock BOV?

I plan to install my TurboSmart dual port BOV when I do the intakes. Just waiting to get a base dyno and go from there.

Driver side is no brainer, because you don't need to remove the wastegate, but you will need to start removing, unclipping and moving cables and hoses around to give you more room. Removing the pcv hoses will help you in both sides. This video helped a bit.

An oil change, The whole under cover doesn't need to come off as it has a fold line that allows access to the plug and filter..... but unless you are on a hoist the hatch will get in the way, or so I found.
Otherwise (even with removing 4 thousand bolts to get the under tray off) it was a really easy, well thought out oil change.

A short occy strap will be enough to hold the half flap back Bodo.

Doesnt take long to remove it. Those under panels are not meant for abuse. Over time, it will deform and could sag

I snapped an oil pan bolt today yay 🙄😂
What were you getting into the oil pan for? Were you breaking it loose or tightening it? Were you able to tap it out?

I've been considering an aluminum pan so I'm interested in any lessons learned.

I was installing the Z1 aluminum oil pan and didn't properly read the torque specs and overtightened the bolt. I tried a cheap extractor kit that that I had luck with before was useless this time. Bought a reverse drill bit set and I'm gonna try to get it out.

Thank you that's the one I was thinking about doing. Good cautionary post. Let us know how it turns out man, best of luck.

I don't know how one would even measure 2-6inch lbs of torque as per their instructions for those bolts. I tried looking for a torque wrench that could go that low, nada. 5inch lbs was the minimum. I asked around and was told to just snug them by hand til their tight and that's it. Same goes with the banjo bolts for the brakes. I guess any aluminum bolt should be treated with extreme care and are not to be torqued too tightly. I'm learning. Next time I read instructions I'm gonna just start asking questions like "what material are the bolts?".
