I've been thinking about wrapping the trim pieces on my car in gloss black. The trim above the doors kind of look like a katana, so I tried a mock-up in Photoshop to see what it might look like with a katana wave-like pattern, similar to real katanas. I’m curious about what others think—does it look tacky, or should I just go with a full black-out trim?

They were totally made to look like a katana !! There is a company out there that makes replacement blades that have the "hamon" on them but I can't remember where i saw them. I guess this is one of those "great minds think alike" lol I think it looks kind of cool but I have been contemplating wrapping the hood and the Katanas in satin black...

I wrapped mine in gloss black and added a stripe on the quarter to match the caliper color

Ouch.
@Ckynus

Did you install, then decide to pull it back? Did it chip off during the stretch?
The process is a bit of put down and pull up to get it to cover without air bubbles. After it chipped I bailed on the install and fixed the paint chip.

I wrapped mine in carbon Fiber. It all match the Carbon Fiber hood I'll be getting.
