The VR engine family is used across many platforms at Nissan and has shown to perfectly reliable in the Q sedans and coupes, and the VR35 is being used in various trucks and SUV's. The Z benefits from years of teething on the Q serious, and with the exception of some heat soak, I don't see any reason with proper oil changes and maintenance, that the VR30 won't be a great reliable motor.

Mine is very quiet, no weird noises, runs 95% of the time with no need for boost, and burns no oil. I’m not kidding my MPG since I drove it off the lot is about 28.3 after 2,000 miles and a few sessions of guzzling gasoline. The excellent tranny helps. I think it’s probably the best engine I’ve owned. We shall see…

I have been trying to drive mine to get it broken in, have had it two weeks and only 250 miles on it, with most of it coming from the 150 miles I drove it back from the dealer. In that time, I have also noticed I can drive the car without needing boost, have proper oil pressure, the engine is smooth as silk and being a manual is so damn quiet. I have a complete A/T exhaust I plan to put on the car at the first oil change, which I plan to do at around 1k miles, just to flush out all the oil from break in.

I just changed my oil at 1800 miles after breaking it in. Whew! Glad to have synthetic lubing the metals now! And glad to accelerate with conviction now haha .

All 0W-20 is synthetic so don’t worry if that was a concern.

I made it through that entire thread and there is literally no usable information in it, just a bunch of worrying over nothing.

Drive these cars and enjoy them, as for me it's a dream car and has been nothing but that.
I agree. Nothing conclusive at all. Nothing really problematic except the usual discussion of the turbos and belts that are revised now.

So just unplugging the solonoid will allow it to be stuck open? Based off what I read, it seems like it's the opposite.
I wonder if there is a solonoid delete kit just like there is a hood popper delete kit...

We need more info to figure out a replacement/delete option. There has to be one. I’m also curious what are oil pressure conditions I look for with the engine working hard.
