Hello everyone!

What is the best method to get the fastest time from 0-60 MPH?

Do you use Automatic or use Manual (LEFT and RIGHT Paddle Shifters) to get the best time? And do you turn OFF the Traction Control for faster time?

Are there any other things I need to adjust in order to get the fastest time from 0-60 MPH?

auto is the fasted by 2-3 tenths. you use launch control. for auto put the Z in sport mode brake to the floor pull both paddles until you see launch control pop up on the dash. then release the paddles and within 6 seconds release the brake

best possible raw 0-60 is about 4.2 seconds. the magazine and youtube tests where you see 3.9 seconds is using 1 foot roll out which is more like 5-60 but that has become the industry standard for comparison

All this time, I thought the most popular way to drive today is using the Paddle Shifters. Especially for all sports cars. So using Auto to drive your car is still the King for faster speed.

I just learned how to use the paddle shifters today. I thought using the paddle shifters was a lot of fun. Especially hearing all the wonderful exhaust notes when the Z does the automatic dropping the gears from 7th gear back to 1st gear at a stop light.

However, when using the paddle shifters, I thought launching from 1st gear to 2nd gear was very slow. Even when I pushed the gas pedal very hard to the floor, the exhaust was loud but the car felt like it wasn't moving very fast. Only when I shift to 3rd gear and then the car moves a little faster. Very strange.

it depends. on a non tuned Z if we are just talking about doing a from a standstill acceleration 0-60 or 1/4 mile full auto letting the Z shift for you is the fastest way as it will shift where it needs to. using paddles just adds possible human error. If the Z is tuned and the the redline or max power RPM range is changed then manual might be preferred.

however if you are on a track you want to manually use the paddles as the Z in auto can get a little confused on the optimal gear

also if you ever do roll racing you 100% want to manually use the paddles as auto just wont understand needing to drop down a gear to be in the perfect power range

Fantastic information and thanks!

When I was using the Paddle Shifters today, I put the car on the letter "M" which I believe is for "Manual". I have been putting the car in the letter "D" which is for Auto since I got the Z. I did not know that you can use the Paddle Shifters when the car is in the letter "D". Now that is another new thing I learned today.

Doesn't using Auto also save gas as well?

Yeah so if you pull a paddle when in D it will go into manual but after a period of inactivity it will revert back to auto. If you change the shifter to M it will stay in manual until you move it back to D

Also note that even in manual when coming to a stop it will downshift to 2nd and 1st for you . You never really ever need to manually shift a Z down to 1st

I guess technically auto is better on gas because it always tries to find the highest gear especially on the highway

Very clear and rational explanation. Thanks.
