Anyone hit the governed speed on the new Z yet? Or mod to go over it?

Yeah, its annoying af. It lets you get to 155 then just cuts power till the car gets down to 150 then lets you go again. I thought the Nismo was limited at 175 but its not, or at least the US version is at 155. The main issue it that the car can get to 155 really quick and its still pulling hard at the limiter.

I was wondering what would happen. I have hit 151 before I ran out of road once and haven't tried to max it out yet.
I agree the car was still pulling really good at 150+ I wonder if its an aero-dynamics (stock) reason for governing it there too.

I got up to 120, let off to clear the road to 112, then punched it and it climbed up to 130 quick then I chickened out and backed off.

I cannot imagine hitting 150. Although it felt like 130 was no issue for the car, smooth as can be.

150 honestly didn't feel much different than 130 to me. Car feels super solid at those speeds.

I've hit 160 before I let off. Stock no tune.
Hmm I didn't think that was possible with a stock Z.

I thought Sport was limited to 155 and Performance/Nismo was 165? Haven't tested it myself, but I swear I remember reading in an article that the whole point of the rear spoiler was to get it to 165.

On the drive home from the dealer, just picked it up, on a straight stretch of country road, said to myself "what the heck. Lets see what it will do." Within a couple seconds I was up to 130mph when I looked down at the speedo. Oh shit! Backed it off. Never in my life was at that speed driving anything. 112mph on a Harley years ago, when young and stupid.

Yeah this thing rips. Its crazy how quick it is. I had similar experiences to you all the first time I decided "What the heck" and floored it. next thing I knew I was 120+.

135mph max on my sport. Nissan claims aerodynamic reasons for both limits, but I'd like to see "independent testing" to prove it. 😎

I can say that my Z Performance has poor downforce at over 135mph. Once the car hits 140mph it wants to float off the ground.

135mph in my Proto. 147mph in my Nismo. Big difference between these two cars of course. The biggest thing that bothered my in the Proto was they way the air flow moves the hood. Appears that there is so much air coming in from the big open front grill that it pushes up on the hood at high speeds making it look like it could detach. Maybe thats the hood poppers design causing that tho. Nismo felt Great at high speed.
