It also has a lot less power. You'd have more of a point if the 3 liter didn't have an LSD.
No, that point stands just fine. 255hp is enough to enjoy the benefits of an LSD over an open diff.

The same people whining and griping about the Z Performance's price point need to acknowledge that the Z Sport absolutely nukes the base model Supra in value.

Yup.

86 twins have much less power and have LSD.

I watched the videos of the Sport being launched, and it didn't seem to one wheel peel at all. They'd then launch a Performance and it seemed exactly the same, right down to the tires barking through the first 3 gears. In good weather, for straight line use the Sport may be ok.

My point is that both base models are stripped down, but the sport Z is a better starting point imo. It's much easier and cheaper to add LSD to a Z than it is to swap in a B58 into the 4-banger Supra as some on the other forum have wanted to do.

Oh, it for sure does. I never said anything different. The base Supra sits at a complete shit price point as well.

Most vehicles would benefit from an LSD. At a certain power level it becomes more of a necessity in a sense.

And the last time I checked it was even more expensive at $43.5k. The MSRP price differences alone should cover the cost of an aftermarket LSD on the Z.
The issue with that is most of them come with the safely technology package or whatever its called and that brings the total up to like $47k+.

Even @Guff who is a big proponent of the 2.0 and spent a whole with one also says it needs a LSD.

So, I know by responding I am resurrecting an ancient thread.

DOES the 2023+ Z have a R190 instead of an R200 rear diff?

Whats the diff between the R190 and R200?

Can an R200 be popped in to the 2023+ Z? Lots of 270Z LSDs laying around. They have 3.3 gears though.

A 370Z rear diff will fit, the only thing that will have to be transferred over is the input yoke flange, that's assuming the splines on the pinion gear are the same. Not sure why you would want to tho as the 370Z comes with a viscous LSD, that's a marginal upgrade at best. You can find used RZ34 with LSD on ebay periodically for around $1k

I've been on eBay looking for awhile. I also have feelers out to local bone yards.

I couldn't stomach a $10k higher price for a performance for a LSD, spoiler, brakes, and heated seats. But, it SUUUUURE would have been easier to have a LSD already in the pumpkin!

Thinking Z1 brakes, LSD are in my future.

I asked Z1 awhile ago. They said they might make one if there is a bigger market for Z's

I asked about that differential it seems to only work for the manual transmission Z's

Im in the same boat with my Sport M/T. The Z1 1.5 way doesnt justify the cost vs finding a used factory LSD to be plug and play.

Check this https://www.eatsleepboost.lt/tech-info/nissan-tech-info/nissan-r200-diff-ratios/. And in regards to the diff, R200 can usually handle more power and is bigger but not necessary. The biggest difference can be appearance where older R200’s have a bulge and r190 are slimmer. Is there a need to pop one in? No not really, but if it fits the 370z it can fit the new z. Here is more info https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/49194-differential-cv-lsd-hp-torque-r160-r180-r200-r230-diff-mount/

Got Cusco diff installed right after first track day. Well, first half track day, brake gone after 6 corners. By the way performance trim. 1500 AUD lsd and 4800AUD labor with some other basic upgrades.
