Anyone seen these hood risers & know how to get them down. Spun the Z on wet roads and caught back wheel on curb. These popped the hood open - can’t open or close hood

I am probably getting a set of these soon. My last autocross is this weekend so just pulling the fuse for that but will probably do this top secret kit over the winter
I can see slight contact with a cone at a wrong angle causing $5k in damage..

If anyone has the time, could make a write up of how to get this done? It would be greatly appreciated 👀

Yea I agree that why I've been disabling them by pulling the fuse but I like this more permanent solution

@D2M did you need to disconnect the battery before the uninstall of the poppers?

Yes, disconnect negative side only. If you are going to leave them in place and just unplug them then disconnect the battery and wait 10-15min for the capacitors to discharge before unplugging them.

I disconnected my battery and began the task of removing them, by the time I had the bolts off it was 15min so it was safe to unplug them. All my infotainment settings were unaffected, only thin I noticed was the trip meter was reset back to zero. No lights on the dash.

They are held in by 3 bolts each. The passenger side lower bolt is a MAJOR pita to get off, I got lucky and happened to have a 12mm wrench that fit tin that exact spot to crack it loose, then I was able to work it off with the open end of the wrench. and remove the nut from the stud with a magnet. The driver side you will have to remove the driver side wiper arm and lift up the wiper cowl panel slightly to get the popper out.

The wiper cowl is split in two so the battery side just simply slides completely off without removing the wipers, there is a small rubber clip from the windshield seal that clips into the edge of the plastic wiper cowl, be careful not to break it off by just yanking the cowl off, I popped it loose before removing the wiper cowl . I had to unclip the fuse box from the metal bracket (there are two release tabs, just press them in and pull up ) and just move it to the side, there is enough slack in the wires to do so. That lower nut on the passenger side popper is still very difficult to access as its in a tight valley. Once you crack it loose initially it comes off easy.

Do you guys know if anyone sells just the plug in resisters? I don't care for the carbon covers, and I am looking to leave the poppers in, and just plug in the resisters. If I do that, it should be a 3 min. job, right? (other than waiting 15 minutes after disconnecting the battery)
I'm definitely not looking to risk a several thousand dollar repair in the event of the poppers popping, lol.

Upon looking further into accessing the electrical plugs, it looks like the windshield cowling needs to come off. If it's not too much to ask, if somebody does this mod, it would be great if they did an instructional video, or pictures with step-by-step instructions. I know it's probably simple once we dig into it, but sometimes it's nice to have hints, as well as knowing how the clips work so nothing is broken accidentally.

The drivers side plug is very easy to access and unplug. The passenger side is very difficult just to unplug. I had to unbolt the popper completely before I could even unplug it. The car side harness is very short and in a tight spot.

Ughh that's annoying, but obviously not a big deal in the scheme of things. I was just hoping for a 3 minute job, which it obviously isn't. But no biggie I guess.

Hi
Do you know Who have them available? I need to replace mine
thanks!
I have a set in perfect condition. I can only ship them in the continental US because they are hazardous.
