New member here. I appreciate all the information I was able to find on the forum before pulling the trigger. Anyway ....

Just bought a new 2024 Performance 6-speed. Beautiful car, and plenty powerful. My biggest gripe is the sound, or lack thereof. Not looking for anything obnoxious. Just looking for recommendations to mildly upgrade the sound without spending a lot or voiding the factory warranty. Also wondering how tricky the installation is and whether it's reversible.

BTW, my second-biggest gripe is the lightness of the steering, especially at low speeds. I thought that would be addressed by driving in Sport mode. But then I discovered that Sport mode isn't offered in manual-transmission cars. (What's that all about?) Just curious if there's a workaround that allows you to add some weight to the steering.

Thanks!
Sport mode mostly changes transmission programming, which obviously the MT doesn't have.

You can increase the steering weight by moving to a wider tire and wider offset wheel. If you simply put another set of rear tires/wheels on the front, you also gain the ability to rotate your tires.

I deleted by accident I'll take another vid.
Signing up for the new vid. I did the AAM resonated Short Tails on my 370Z and really liked that approach. Not too loud, just aggressive enough. I noticed these are not resonated. Maybe there isn't the need for resonated anything exhaust-wise due to the turbos acting as mufflers?

Couldn't be more happier! I love the natural sound of the VR30DDTT! That muffler is heavy and it emasculated the engine sound. I don't plan for the length of my warranty to do any intense mods so I decided to get a nice catback dual pipes with burnt tips. Love the sound omg.

Bumflik, could you please tell me which axle-back unit you used? Judging from the photos, the install looks pretty straightforward. But could you give me a sense of how loud it is? I'm not looking for a lot of noise, but the MT car is virtually silent, and that just doesn't seem right!

Thx.

That muffler is a 47 pound silencer. It mitigated 99% of the audible sound of the motor. I am not doing full bolt on mods so I took it off and placed stainless steel pipes with burnt tips from this aftermarket company.

I paid 350$ which included free shipping. Received it in 7 days by UPS. Start up sound and the cabin sound is not annoying but u feel it and it sounds like a twin turbo V6 should sound. Every one is different and have their own tastes and expectations. I'm cool with it. You'd have to try it out for ya self. 350$ isn't a lot of money and of you don't like it you can place you muffler back on and decide to go with another aftermarket exhaust choice of your liking.

Thanks, much appreciated. From the photos, it looks like you simply unbolt the muffler and bolt on the new pipes, correct? I'm assuming -- hoping? -- the new pipes use the original exhaust hanger attachment points, yes? If so, easy-peasy, and the price is right.

Thanks again!

The manual sport trim doesn't have a resonator like the Auto Trans

Easy peasy! Everything comes in the shipment and it bolt on to posterior of oem piping and slide right on existing hanger attachment yes

This is timely. I just got my new 24 Z delivered and the first thing I do is crank it up -- and get immediately disappointed. The manual Z is way, way, way too quiet. It reminded me of the last rental car I had...which I can't even remember, because it was so non-descript.

Gotta solve this asap somehow - whether it's replacing the manual silencer with the factory AT axel-back or this solution

Do what you feel is best for you. Yea that 47 lb silencer is terrible. Japan and California govt restrictions regarding decibel level.
