The stock shifter is technically a short shifter already and a very good height imo.

I've done short shifters on past cars but this one doesn't feel like it needs any shorter.

I had the Z1 short throw shifter installed. I like it a lot better than stock. it doesn’t feel as sloppy as the stock shifter feels. It is a little bit taller than the stock shifter, but annoyingly taller.

You will most likely need to purchase an additional shift knob as the original will probably get damaged during removal.

OT but I love your bass guitar! Fretless? I've got 4 basses in my instrument collection of various synths, guitars, and drums. My 1983 Gibson Victory is a fretless.

On topic, I don't mind the throw on the standard shifter, but I also rotate between with my '07 MT Frontier which has a longer throw, but not nearly as much as my prior '98 F150 5 spd or my '39 3/4 ton 4 spd that I banged my knuckles on the metal dash getting into granny gear 1st.

However, I will say that in my 3 months of driving my Z, I do agree that the shifting can be a little sloppy at times. Since mine's a daily driver that spends most of its time on the freeway, I can live with it for now. However, it's nice to know there are options.

I installed the Z1 with the aluminum solid mounts as well. https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-pr...shings-p-26542.html?list_name=BundledTogether Coupled that with a Likewise delrin shift knob. https://us.wearelikewise.com/produc...sL_EkSykRZ_dQX650Muzo-WrMhxEsytRoCPm0QAvD_BwE LOVE IT! All of the rubbery and loose feeling gone. Shifts are direct and confident with almost no slop anywhere to be found. 10 out of 10! Do it, you won't regret it. You actually feel the engagement and disengagement of each gear.

Just know that you have to take the center console out to do the swap. It was a major pain in the you know what.

That short throw is taller than stock?

Installed Stillen short shift kit. Love it. So much better. No more slop. I definitely wouldn't go back. I had to get a new knob, of course. The factory uses Loctite.

I'm looking for a short shifter with the ball socket cup already pressed.
