They won't break. It is just that some work better than others in things like damping rates and having a better spectrum in adjustability. I have experience with KW and Ohlins with success. I cannot speak to the others so won't comment on their quality. It could be great for all I know.

But I still believe being new you will get what you need from a set of $300 springs on the stock dampers. Less time fiddling with damping rates and more time driving.

Swift SPEC-R Sport Springs - 2023+ Nissan RZ34 - SakeBomb Garage LLC
But I do want the ability to adjust dampers. So for daily I can set them soft and for track days I can tighten them.

HKS Hipermax R is definitely worth the money, they have revised so many little details and lots of new technology has been put into this R coilover. It is not that stiff for daily driving, but definitely much stiffer then stock. HKS has claimed it to be the "All Arounder", capable of daily & track.
These would replace the factory Z-NISMO setup, so that's why I am considering them over the S-series.

Always err on the softer side especially if you are running a 300/200 tw tire. I would stay away from the HKS R for the RZ34, the spring rates a crazy stiff at 22/26k thats insane. they are for a R compound tire and a aggressive driver, you not ready for that.

As far as HKS you can go wit the Hiper S (12/11k) for the RZ34 or the Hiper R for the 370Z (16/18K )they are a bit softer but still too stiff imo.
What is the stiffness of the factory Z-NISMO setup? I don't want to get the Hypermax-S and be a downgrade.

No info on Nismo stock rates available yet. I can tell you they are soft, floaty and lazy to react, I feel like I have to be very patient with my inputs. The compression is too high so the car takes forever to weight transfer or set into a corner. Rebound it too soft and it has too much travel or droop so it lets the body get really high in the travel over a hump in the road at high speed. This is all personal preference and depends on how you like to drive. I like a very quick reacting car, I like it to weight transfer quickly and set quickly, so adjustable dampers will allow me to set it up exactly how I like it.

My 911 was set up perfect from the factory in the softer setting, I could be aggressive with it and it reacted quickly and set quickly.

My Veloster N has electronic suspension, 3 settings and all 3 are good, car is on rails and reacts instantly compared to my Z that just feels " lazy"

On the other spectrum I had a 2015 Camaro Z/28, that was wayyyy too stiff for road or track, everything would upset the chassis. I couldn't take any curbs on track. I installed a seto of softer 2 way coilovers and car was amazing at my particular track and back roads.

My RZ34 Z-NISMO bounces with every road imperfection at highway speed. In case you're wondering, the factory transport-stubs have been removed. That is why I am considering replacing the suspension.

I'm leaning towards the HKS Hypermax-R, which is why your comment about being too stiff concerned me. On my 350Z I have been running the NISMO S-tune suspension and have been happy with it for almost 2 decades.

The RZ34 spec HKS R has a 22kg front spring, thats 1230 lb spring, and a 26kg rear spring, thats 1450 lb. Thats insanely stiff, thats dedicated track car running slicks with a pro driver stiff. Dont do that to yourself, you will need a kidney belt for every drive.

HKS R for the 370Z is slightly less aggressive at 16kg / 900 front and 18kg / 1000 rear but still too stiff imo unless you are a track rat.

They will both fit the RZ34. Im planing of going 14 f and 10r.

Thanks for the advice. The HKS Hipermax-S seem to be closer to your recommended range.

Do yo have the Hipermax R? Or have you ridden in a Z that has them?

Update: I got the Hipermax R installed and they are perfectly fine with the comfort (default) settings.

The Z feels much better now. Much more stable in corners and the bouncing is dampened quickly.

I just got my Hipermax R installed too, the ride comfort is amazing, I personally don't think it is even stiff, it feels way way way better than stock, everything feels sharp and stable.

Yes, Hipermax R does not feel stiff at all, the spring rate is crazy high (22/26), but it has got some magics in it, it's very comfortable on street, even in lower speed road. It is definitely stiffer than stock, but trust me it feels way better.

I've heard there instances where the strut bar can penetrate the frame with a hard enough bump, hence why those rear control arm buckets are used instead. Is that issue a real thing?

Do you have them on the factory settings? The ride quality was perfect with factory settings, not too stiff and not too soft but it seemed a bit bouncy over bumps which I thought could unsettle the car at high speeds. To remove the bounciness they were stiffened up. They do now ride quite firm but the car handles so much better and is more settled.

Yes, I feel exactly what you said, and I did exactly what you did as well. The car feels amazing right now! :)

I ended up ordering the Neomax coilovers with swift springs. I don't think I will be disappointed.
