Any chance you have some sound clips on this? Would love to hear this in action.
Yes I do - see post above. Site won't let me post too large. I can email to you or on FB The New Nissan Z group I posted.

OMG. The hose clamps are a PITA to remove on the stock hoses! The stupid clip clamp is amazingly hard to figure out how the heck it is held on!

Currently, my 1/4" drive ratchet is sitting on top of the bottom skid plate.

I've watched every video I can find on it, looks like the best way is a flat head screwdriver on opposite sides of the spring clip at the same time with a second person pulling up on the airbox.

I just saw this I'm sure you've got it by now.

On the K&N can you service the filters without taking out the entire box assembly? It seems like many of these aftermarket ones require that which seems like a huge PITA.

The problem is, with the K&N, is you need to get a socket UNDER the filter to loosen/tighten the filter's hose clamp to the pipe sticking up. Yeah, I could just stick the filter on, but if it pops out, a leaf has a straight shot to the turbos.

Sounds AWESOME with the hood up.

Can barely hear it with the gaskets off and the hood shut.

MIGHT take the boxes off, and slap the filters onto the pipe. Yeah, it defeats the purpose of CAI, but the sound was great.

Took skin off of every knuckle, split a nail to the bed. Was like working on a motorcycle, but without all the wiggle room (Sarcasm).

Bro not that bad - e-clip on OE hose put a screw driver on both sides if you have to to keep e-clip from resetting. Those K&N boxes I can't speak to. Are those 2.5" or 3" if 3" you will need to get tuned. For not much more you can get a kicking set of RAE 3" (which I have) or Bossted 6 - comes with a removable 2.5" sleeve so you can go to 3" if you choose. Return those and go with one of the two.

In hindsight, I would probably go for the Boosted 6, and leave the sleeve inside. For the sounds, mainly. (I do not see myself going for a full-on EcuTeck flash/tune.)

just put these on and didnt even finish. got the drivers side done but holy these things are poorly designed for installation. i thought taking the oem boxes were way easier but this thing was a on another level. trying to tighten these clamps, especially the clamp under the air filter was insanely hard (maybe i just need power mechanic tools). Good luck trying to take the clamps off to clean these things.

For the passenger side, I put the pipe that holds the MAF sensor too balls-deep in the lower rubber pipe. Only insert it about 1". THEN, put the MAF sensor pipe balls-deep in the air filter box. THAT gives you enough space to get a deep well socket onto the hose clamp that holds the air filter.

I may have gotten tied up in their HP/torque claims. Might have been the "Its open when hood is open" design. But I could use more sound from them. Ain't taking the things off again. (They were a PITA).

U have the same ? I got a question about the passenger side. Does it sit a bit higher than the drivers side? Rn im at the last part clamping the intake down

The box sits at the same height. Did you remove the small bracket below the K&N box that was used as a support for the factory air filter assembly?

Like I said, I had a bear of a time tightening the passenger filter. THEN, I remembered I put the metal tube too deep in to the lower rubber hose. When I pulled the metal out, I was able to get it deeper in to the K&N air box. That gave me enough slack to get a deep well around the hose clamp.

THEN, I tightened the K&N box in place.

I still have not installed the gaskets on the boxes. I like the sound too much.

I installed mine last week. It was a bit of a pain but overall not to crazy. I would recommend adding the gaskets, you will still have a lot of the sound but intake temps will stay cooler.

Any suggestions on what to use to remove paint from the K&N logos?

This is what I hate, I did the mishimoto and I have take the airboxes off to service the filters. What a giant PIA that is gonna be. Argh. Maybe I'll get better at it each time.
