The Mechanic who wrote that piece says 10psi for every 1000th rpm

The highest I've seen up to 4000rpm to day was 56psi. Lowest at idle for me is 23psi. I'm using full synthetic 5W-30

Has there been a single engine loss on this forum?

Good question. Haven't heard of any issues yet... well the GR86 has the RTV gasket leaking into the block causing failures here and there. The only rock solid Motor still with no defects or issues is the Great K20c in the FK8 and FL5 Type Rs.

So just unplugging the solonoid will allow it to be stuck open? Based off what I read, it seems like it's the opposite.
I wonder if there is a solonoid delete kit just like there is a hood popper delete kit...
I've read the same thing. Even had a tuner from one of the highest regarded Z shops tell me, Just disconnect it, nothing else to do. Now I read that it throws a light which requires going into the ECU to turn off.

Yeah, see we don’t even know if the device is normally closed or normally open. I wish we could find more about what it is and what it’s doing so we can decide how to resolve it. I’ve heard explanations, but they don’t include usable info beyond it’s a solenoid controlling oil flow. When? How? Why?

Well the when how and why is pretty simple. It reduces oil flow under low rpm and low load. It’s gas saving by reducing oil friction

I think the concern is, does the solenoid responsible for this remain in normally open, or closed. If we know this then we know if we disconnect, we are actually getting the intended results.

Exactly. With more info we can develop a workaround that could be as simple as disconnecting it and putting a resistance in its place to keep the ECU from responding. Similar to the dumb devices people plug into trailer hitch wiring to keep the engine from turning off to save gas.

Sad that Manufacturer had to resort to doing this just to squeeze more mpg of fuel consumption to appease the Govt ICE killing goals.
