Well after a lot of waiting, today is the day. The swap is happening. Had to order a few additional parts and also had to carve out the time, but finally. Note to those wanting a Z, buy the performance. The LSD (IMO) is worth it in addition to everything else.

Good luck!

That's cool. Looks like the carrier housing and attaching points, driveshaft, axles, are exactly the same, only the internals - gears and LSD - are different. Should be straight swap and not much more weight. Keep us posted.

I'm still tempted to start with the Sport, being a little lighter (don't care about the extras in the interior or infotainment), and upgrade my own choice brakes and susp, all for track duty only.

Yup, direct swap minus the gear oil sensor. Now what to do with a complete MT rear diff carrier. Only has 190 miles on it. Maybe I can sell it to someone that wants to build their own LSD?

Didn't need the extra parts I ordered. The performance rear carrier was almost new (about 1900 miles on it). Bought the parts for no reason. I'm no mechanic, just a straight swap.
