I was stupid enough to do this today. I had an appt for 1:00 and I arrived a couple of minutes early. The service writer said the only tech qualified to do this was at lunch and would be back in half an hour. 45 minutes later, they told me they had moved the car into a bay. 45 minutes later, they told me it was going to take longer than the original estimate of one hour because it was a lot more involved than they had realized because they had to remove the bumper. A few minutes before 5:00 they said they were done. I told the service manager this was unacceptable. Why schedule an appt when the only qualified tech is at lunch? How can you not know what you're supposed to do before you start? He explained the tech had never done this recall procedure before and needed an extra pair of hands to hold the bumper and no one was available for a while.

Things look OK but I'll check more closely in the am.

Hell will freeze over before I set foot in that dealership again.
Ugh thats the exact bullshit im trying to avoid. HOPEFULLY everything else is all good. I just cant trust some of those guys. Sorry you had to deal with that.

If you can, post pics where the bumper lines up with the fenders etc. I’m curious if it looks as it should be .
Haven't had time for photos, but it looks OK to me, and yesterday I took it to the shop I usually use for service (non-dealer!) to have it inspected and they thought it looked OK.

Happy Thursday, I started this thread and today I had a 8am appointment at Larry Miller Nissan in Centennial Colorado. Was out by 10am. No issues on the recall repair. Although I bought a Z T-shirt and a Nissan Polo Shirt and an Oil filter for my z. oil filter was the cheapest by a third! I think they do recalls so we shop the accessory store and drop close to a $100 LOL! Good experience

You can log in at nissanusa.com to check the recall status for your particular car. The app also has the information, if you can get it to work. I fought with the app for 10 minutes this morning, and I couldn't get logged in.

I had my recall done last month. It is actually the sensor on the front bumper that pushes the hood hinges up if you hit a pedestrian.

Getting my recall done today. Two Performance 6MT in the showroom.

This is Mossy Nissan in Poway, CA. I like the service department here. It's the same place that turned off the ANC/ASE for no charge.

Gunmetal was my second color choice. This is the first one I've seen in person. It looks great.

How did it go? How long did it take? Any noticeable differences?

I arrived at 8:30am, and left at 12:30pm. They did the recall and checked out the hatch. The hatch seems to work better, and the bumper seems to be reinstalled properly, including the headlight shocks. Really the front facia is indistinguishable from before, looking at it from the outside. Probably would've taken less time if I hadn't asked them to check the hatch, but the hatch seems to be working a whole lot better, which is more valuable to me considering I don't hit pedestrians very often compared to how often I open the hatch. I am now ready to (continue not to) hit pedestrians.

Note: I think Mossy Nissan Poway has a really good senior tech, and that probably makes all the difference.
