ive enjoyed his videos for many years. pretty smart dude...but maybe he's full of hot air this time^ There's a typo there somewhere (or in the video, which I haven't watched yet) ... otherwise magically the car weighs less when he's in it ... mind you, maybe he's just full of "hot air".![]()

Oh yeah, have done this, 4th down to 3rd but got 1st instead at a 90* turn slowing from 100, when I used to track my STi. Rear end locked and spun. No engine damage since the rev limiter cut in. I wonder why Jason didn't mention the rev cut, if happened at all.
rev limiter just cuts ignition right, it cannot prevent the engine from overreving if its wheels driven with enough tractionOh yeah, have done this, 4th down to 3rd but got 1st instead at a 90* turn slowing from 100, when I used to track my STi. Correct, limiter won't do anything to prevent a mechanical over rev.rev limiter just cuts ignition right, it cannot prevent the engine from overreving if its wheels driven with enough traction
Yep, it was a good thing I was starting my 90 deg turn, a late hurried downshift, so the car just spun, wheels stopped rotating. Just passed a car and heel-toe too late. Once in a lifetime, hopefullyrev limiter just cuts ignition right, it cannot prevent the engine from overreving if its wheels driven with enough traction
