Yes that's the correct one. My current setting is Medium it's perfect for windy roads and putting power down on stock 245, and I don't see a need for the high setting unless you are running semi-slicks or super sticky Dunlops. Low is also a great setting and give more than enough lock and feed back, but with the setting at medium cornering at speeds of 80+ tires have a very - almost torque vectoring esque pull, often times taking extremely sharp turns and putting power down I don't know what I would do without the Diff. There isn't a need for all the above with the Z1 as the earlier post had mentioned. Though if you were to track it I would worry about the temps of the diff fluid but it's minor since you'd be using 75w 140 Nismo oil which is Perfect, doesn't effect shifting even in extremely cold weather. High is a very capable setting but as the diff sorta "beat" my tires in terms of grip it was trying to achieve it was useless. Though with the new Z and based off of motorsports racing they use the High setting in the super taikyuu in which they made this one anyway, and they were dominating in cornering sections against the Supra. Do as you will lol.
This. This is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you for the detailed info! You've made my determination - I am getting this LSD, lol. Do you happen to also use a Nismo diff cover or the z1 diff cover? I may end up using a larger cover for more liquid as well as the z1 cover works with their z1 diff cooling kit. No worries if you don't I'll just call them... It just seems very hit or miss if I'll get a knowledgeable person or not when I call. 🤷

Either or is fine, I personally like Nismo. Z1 has a sale ongoing so perhaps you can snag a deal. Both Z1 and Nismo offer a cooling fan as well for the Z but unless you are doing extremely hard sessions ( if you don’t overheat brakes engine oil etc) then it’s pretty much mandatory. The diff puts in tons of work and I expect nothing less of it. I’m on the stock diff cover right now and temperatures are very good, but as I mentioned earlier if you do extremely hard sessions go grab Z1’s and see from there. Also i would like to say just in case that this LSD is only for Manual, I’m not sure if that’s what you have so just to clarify. Good luck on track and make some nice videos too :).

Yes sir, on a manual! Always good to double check. Much appreciated! I wasn't aware that Nismo has a diff cooler - I'll have to look that up

I have a factory brand new LSD on the way from Nissan. I plan on putting the Z1 bigger cover on it.

Doing a bunch of reading to figure out what fluid / break in additive (If any) I should use.

Putting in the urethane bushings too.
Following up on this, by factory brand new LSD do you mean the LSD in the Performance and Nismo? If so, Z1 motorsports just told me their LSD cover *only* fits the Sport model. I asked for more clarification... I am confused, but perhaps I got someone who isn't knowledgeable. I'm not even sure who would buy their diff cover for a Sport model (open diff).

EDIT:
Disregard, seems Z1 got a more knowledgeable person and/or I provided more clarity. Seems Z1 will work on the sport with other LSD.

The LSD itself is essentially a direct swap here are some photos : I'm sure the difference is noticeable, the biggest pro to this LSD is not only is it fantastic as was shown in the 2023-2024 super Taikyuu racing; but Nissan offers a warranty on it. It can fit the base sport, and performance. The diff cover z1 can also fit in, it's just a matter of liquid- I'm aware you came from a viscous type LSD and naturally the Clutch type here offers more ease in that sense. I have the stock diff cover, and it's a huge NOTE for the first 600-1000 miles. The car will jitter in extremely small parking lot turns and u turns, if you manage throttle input you'll be fine. The jitter will go away and what comes is like a light ringing with a slight engagement "knock" it's perfectly fine and normal as the LSD is aggressive. I would personally say I am knowledgeable for the most part upon this so if you have any more questions be free to ask.

Fantastic info and images, thank you! I'll try to be less concerned about the noises the new LSD will make lol. Are you running the Nismo competition fluid perhaps, the 75w140? I've seen people discuss using a friction modifier or something like that to help keep it quiet, what are your thoughts on that? While I don't have the LSD installed yet so I can't hear it, this won't be a daily driver so I think I might be able to manage without caring about the noises too much.

Are you using the factory diff bushings or did you go to solid bushing from z1 or SPL? They put together a quote for me with their diff brace, rear subframe tie bar brace, solid bushings, and the larger diff cover. Wondering how much of that is actually needed seeing as I only have 23 miles on the car

I'm using Factory Diff bushings as that's more than adequate, Nissan has always been like that. I use 75w140 without a friction modifier and it's quite quiet majority of the time besides the break in. Usually for the chassis reinforcements they are offering I wouldn't say they are needed since the car already has fresh bushings and is still metallurgy from 2024, I would only do that way further down the line. Having the Diff and diff cover should be fine. There was only noise for 600 miles and then it went away but you can hear when it engages. If you want to use a friction modifier then go ahead but in my experience it's been quite enough and I drive it often. I would only recommend from them the diff brace as of now since again the car is new and has more than enough of the support, chassis wise it's more then rigid; I would only go with the diff brace for now, but if you want to take advantage of the sale go get whatever.
