found out estimated production for the NISMO in Japan is around 200 per year out of 1K to 1.2K Z total
this year the North American Market got around 2300 Z's. does this mean we will only see under 500 NISMO Z for the US?

I do know that some dealers are already assigned NISMOs in specific colors for their allocations which means they are built which adds evidence to the change over at the factory was indeed June
Japan has started their lottery for the NISMO Z. customers who already have an existing order must go to their dealer and submit an application form for the NISMO. If these applications exceed 1200 customers then there will be a lottery to pick the winners. those winners will have their order change for the NISMO will be accepted

The MSRP will be interesting. With the 45th anniversary Supra being $65k people will undoubtedly compare the NISMO to it. Let's hope the tweaks are enough to push it past the Supra.

Yeah but I mean all the Japanese stuff I'm posting really doesn't relate directly I just find it interesting for context as I'm guessing US will get double what they do but either way it's gonna be rough. So far it seems the NISMOs are being distributed like the Z has all last year where you cant "order" one so everyone is gonna run Into the same issues of playing which dealer has the color NISMO I want held for hostage.
I've got some really good leads and some things going on behind the scenes but it's still even totally uncertain for me right now

I mean i did “order” one in canada 2023my and still no eta of a car, rather have an eta guarantee from the manufacturer at this point especially if its a nismo
I'm not totally convinced those Canada pre orders were "real" factory orders in the sense like how we are used to speced orders being done by other manufacturers.
I almost feel like Nissan was going to try to match the incoming cars to what the customer ordered. I don't have any real evidence to support that theory other than the cars never showing up and orders are totally counterintuitive to how Nissan USA has managed their entire distribution.
There is something called a "CPO" or current production order where a dealer gets and allocation for a august build and they can go in and change the color to say yellow or manual to auto ect and then that car gets built. Now that does exist but to do a preorder and have it fulfilled to that spec a year later just seems off to me a bit. I just feel like Nissan Canada isn't being transparent about what those preorders really were. Orbit could have been true factory orders at first and then never materialized.
Again this is just from the outside looking in I got no clue how Canada handles things but Canada vins are the same as the US and seems odd for them to be handled so different.

From our end its a pre order and was advertised as one, especially since nissan canada directly took them and not the dealers but dealers also took them. Full faqs were up when we started in the end of january of 2022 and early feb https://www.nissan.ca/vehicles/sports-cars/z/faq.html
Reservation numbers were provided also with a step by step delivery process in which everyone is stuck at phase 1 with the exception of maybe 5% were fulfilled
