I do like this approach, the best compromise in today's times moving forward. A complete turnaround for BEVs would not be the smart move.

e-Power Means Nissan Gets More Out Of Existing Combustion Engines
The "path of electrification" is an interesting choice of words, because Nissan will offer three different hybrid powertrains going forward. Your options will be a traditional hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, or e-Power. The latter will be new to the USA next year, and the engine under the hood is connected to a generator. It powers a small battery, which powers the wheels. It may seem like a complex solution, but it’s actually very smart.

Yeah the pathfinder refresh is kind of interesting to me but it supposed to be a turbo 4 instead of the 6 going forward
My wife has the new qx60 with the turbo 4. We had a pathfinder before it. Honestly , I don’t notice the difference in the engine ability .

My guess continues to be that the outgoing gen of vehicles will be my last favored. Zooming way out, there was the first Model T flavor, 30's/40's, 50's/60's, 70's, 80's, 90's-now, and feels like everything changing to distinct rounded, electric look.

I’d be fine with the new 4 cylinder engines if they were actually more powerful or efficient, but in the Murano that does not appear to be the case. Sad to see the trusty VQ going away.

I had a loaner QX50 when my Q60 was in the shop.

Terrible. With turbo engines, there's some turbo lag. With the VC there's also some lag during compression change. I could definitely feel one and/or the other in the QX50.

Interesting in the last couple of weeks articles coming out about Nissan refocusing on Sports cars with new CEO being a "Car Guy". The confirmed new GT-R (hopefully ICE) and rumored Silvia does Nissan become Japan's sports car company?

A Japanese kid lived with me for a summer during engineering school and he said “Toyota for girls. Nissan for boys.”

I wish Nissan would leverage the reputation and make fun cars and leave Toyota and Honda for the girls.

That pretty much settles it. No wonder Supra had to ask a boy for help.:crackup:
