welp all the Zs are out 3 of the 4 suffered similar overheating issues that messed with the power steering. the black dog Z just had some bad luck with a stripped thread. NISMO Japan is going to have take a look at the root cause of the overheating

so this was the first GT4 endurance race in the US so its a strain for all the makes but there seems to be something going on with the Z as like I said 3 of the 4 cars across 2 different teams seemed to have somewhat similar issues.

there were some cooling concerns last season which in part promoted the some changes to the front of the NISMO design. this is only a 2 year old racing program. but yeah today was a bit of a step back it seems

Yeah that was unfortunate to see. I’m glad Blackdog was able to keep their car on the track, but obvious disappointment from Eric & Jonathan as they were just getting ready to go when TechSport decided to hold.

pretty crazy season for techsport

Sonoma you were leading the race and blew the engine with 8 mins left. Sebring you won the race but were like 40lbs too light and DQed and COTA DNF


flying lizard had the heating issues too

Black Dog would have done ok without the crossthread but not sure they would have won as early in the race they had a hard time holding off the top couple cars

Road America was this weekend and the Zs saw some success.

On saturday the #5 Flying Lizard had a 2nd place class podium in class while gaining 12 positions on track

Sunday the #23 Techsport Z had a 2nd place class podium finishing 4th overall

the Flying Lizard #5 finished 4th in class but earned another hard charger award picking up 16 places in the race

Been watching every race this season. Road America was an entertaining race as really all of them have been.

The Z has strong power and is very competitive always with a chance to win. Especially with Neudorf in Techsport #23.
