I must say...as one of about 150 RZ34's in Minnesota, and one of very few in outstate Minnesota, I literally can't park anywhere up here without someone commenting and offering appreciation for my plain-jane silver Performance Z...gas station, grocery store, Costco etc. Some don't know what brand it is, but comments about it's appearance are routine. I've had many Z's for many years, but the attention that the RZ34 attracts is a new experience for me. It does stimulate me to keep it clean and polished.

Nissan has much bigger problems than just keeping the miniscule volume Z. They don't even have a Hybrid, and their EVs are underwhelming. These are what drives the market nowadays. Their trucks are not doing well either. Now, with some financial backing, if not too late, promoting the Z better can boost sales. Porsche, BMW have their performance driving classes for new members, for example, to boost interest. Heck even Mazda is still doing OK with the MX-5 and Spec series boost. Those companies see the value in performance with small-volume entries. There are plenty of Z Clubs all over the country and events like ZCON, so Nissan needs to step up and promote it!

Of course, we all know the new Z is just not a $50K plus car for what it is, not to mention the Nismo. If Nissan drops the Performance to the $45-49K range, I think there will be more bites. I'm still waiting.

I don't think Nissan can build a sports car that will move the market and give them a reasonable ROI for $56,000. Their choice was to market either a budget, price-point sports car, or a sports car that would compete with Porsche or BMW. They chose the former. Works for me, but not others, Im sure

Maybe Nissan needs to change back their name to Datson. Lol.

I think it’s a smart move. I hear financially, Nissan isn’t doing well.

Why are you still waiting? Plenty of posts of dealers selling way under msrp.

If they have to drop the price to $45k- $49k in order to sell the things, I'll bet that they'll just pull the plug. Prune the dead wood.

I have had nothing but positive responses to my Z. It is the only 2024 I have seen in the east valley side of the Phoenix metro area which overall is the 4th or 5th largest city in the US depending upon how you measure it. The car stands out and everyone has commented on how attractive it is.

I do see a fair amount of criticism online for this vehicle. It's built on the 370Z chassis, it has an outdated interior, it doesn't have the latest creature comforts on the interior, it's too expensive, and on and on and on. I personally find all of that part of the attraction. As we transition into the software era of motor vehicles, this car retains enough of its heritage to make it unique in a world of ubiquitous and banal vehicles. The analog features are a plus to me. Real knobs for climate control, the center console hand brake, the throwback analog gauges. All of this just say "classic sportscar" in my mind.

Granted, I have never been much into the current trend in anything. I still listen to progressive rock well after it's been declared dead, feel that the only transmission worth having is one with a manual clutch, and have a soft spot for the gasoline engine even if electric vehicles will blow the doors of my Z. This has in so many ways become a niche car for those of us who appreciate things that are a little old school.

If 2025 is indeed the last year for the foreseeable future of the Z and as such likely the last gasoline powered one to be had, I might work hard to save to purchase one just to garage for collectors' sake. My bigger concern on this vehicle long term is how little knowledge there is to service it. The dealership I purchased mine at told me at a warranty repair that the local mechanics had a special number to call regarding service on the Z. I hope to have mine running as long or longer than my Frontier which is 17-1/2 years old. There are a bazillion of those on the road, so parts are easy to find. However, I have mixed emotions on the relative rarity of this vehicle. Someone somewhere can service it and between the Infiniti Q50 engine components and the similarity to the 370Z, the parts question may not be as big an issue.

My final thought is that I am seeing many reports that Nissan in general is having issues with resonating with the buying public in all its major markets. Could the Z become a victim of that?

Yeah! It's stuff like that lol. Don't get me wrong, I bought the car cause I like it but to see a once really celebrated car be cast aside...Kinda feels bad.
My experience has been one of the Z getting significant daily attention, even in Naples. I suspect that at least part of this is due to the fact that my paint spec can be seen from low orbit.

Oh, I'm aggressively looking, yep a few under $50K but at locations needing fly and drive. Even low mile one-owners also considering, which are dipping in the low $40Ks. Guess I'm picky on the color/interior options.

Just visited a local dealer here, Empire Nissan, 5 Zs on the lot, two Seiran, one White, one Silver, one Black, looking sharp, all Performance at $56K MSRP, haven't talked to any salesperson on offers yet.
